Join us for a conversation on the sustainable food system as a metaphor for our lives. Ana Joanes, director of FRESH, will explore how, as we explore the meaning of the word “sustainability,” we begin to develop a vision of a complex web of life where each element — soil, water, worms, animals, wind, trees, insects, etc — has a place and a role. Joel Salatin explains in FRESH that chicken should be allowed to express their chicken-ness, pig their pig-ness, cow their cow-ness.  And, he adds “when you do that, everything else falls into place.†Following this model also brings a radical perspective on our own lives.  As we come to see ourselves as part of this incredible web, we can realize the power and impact of expressing our individual voice and celebrating our uniqueness.
